I work in Philosophy / School of Global Affairs at Lancaster University. For 2025-26, I am Visiting Professor in the Centre for Ethics, University of Toronto.
I write and teach on ethics and political theory, with a special focus on Kant. I've also researched a range of practical questions, especially in food systems and public health. These pages give some information about my writing and the collaborative research projects I'm involved in. |
Before coming to Lancaster, I taught at the University of Central Lancashire's Centre for Professional Ethics. My first position was in Politics at Manchester University.
I've also been a Visiting Professor at Ruhr University Bochum, and a Visiting Fellow at the University of Amsterdam, Copenhagen Business School, the European Academy in Bad Neuenahr, and the University of St Andrews. I studied at Manchester University, taking degrees in Philosophy & Politics (BA) and Health Care Ethics (MA), as well as writing my PhD on knowledge and action in Kant's philosophy. |
